It’s San Francisco, 1963

Before America is irreversibly changed, before Kennedy was buried and Ali rose up. At Dante’s, we experience the lives of its waiters, bartenders, fat cats, hookers, and drunks as they struggle to stay alive without giving in.

David Thaller attempts to find balance in the turbulent waters of his adolescence, his art and the mess of his family. His broken mother becomes the ballast of his courage as he develops essential friendships, which enlarge his perspective on life.

The celebratory drama of Dante’s allows David to taste new flavors of living. As he rapidly matures, defying his enemies, finding love and creating his art, he finally battles against his father for the freedom of his spirit.
