About KR Levin

KR Levin writer and photographer

KR Levin has been working in Hollywood for more than four decades. After graduating from Hampshire College, he moved to Los Angeles where he began working in commercials among other projects. Some of his early credits include doing special effects on Mystic Pizza and as a leadman on Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo. KR also worked on the original Lizzie McGuire and went on to prop master many kid shows, from Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide to Wizards of Waverly Place and Lab Rats. He then moved into motion pictures, including Promising Young Woman and Lyle, Lyle Crocodile for Sony Pictures.

KR has been consumed by short-form narrative since the first story he wrote back in the ninth grade. His literary interests have a wide range from space and aviation to the human condition and the darkness that can sometimes infest our lives. He’s published dozens of articles in trade magazines, including an article on Orb Photography in UFO magazine.

KR has many more stories to tell, including Harmony in Speed, an aviation thriller, which is the natural extension to Flying Inside the Envelope, a short story. Kite Strings & Brisket is his second novel. His current novel, Great Exploitations ‑ A Hollywood Fable, is newly finished and for which he is currently seeking representation.

When not writing, he is thinking about writing. KR is also an accomplished photographer, having received a BA from Hampshire College. In the last few years he has returned to photography, focusing on using time exposures with multiple imagery to add an eerie quality to his work in a highly dramatic, dark style. He loves pretty much anything with wheels or wings. He currently lives in Camarillo with his therapist wife.
